I am a pediatric yoga therapist at my local children's hospital who found yoga early-on as a refreshing balance to competitive sports. Through physical and emotional pain, religious trauma, the separation and reuniting of my marriage, a life lived between the Bible belt and the West Coast and now raising a teenager, yoga has been a constant – providing connection, healing, and a sense of well being. Now the practice of yoga begins (Sutra 1.1 Atha Yoganusasanam)…

After 8 years practicing vinyasa flow and many months of back pain, a wise yogi-chiropractor hinted that maybe my juicy, dynamic practice was undermining me.

Guiding philosophies…
-
I may be leading the practice / session, but only you are inside your body – listen to its wisdom.
-
Yoga is so much more than postures, so be prepared to learn about the body-mind-emotion-breath-spirit connection, the Yoga Sutras, and mindful meditation while moving your body with me.
Intentions become reality...

When I dropped my kid off at kindergarten, I immediately knew that the best way to create a healthy society is to teach kids to breathe and stay aware of the wisdom in their bodies
-
After taking a kids yoga teacher training, I spent the next 2 years teaching after-school yoga and volunteering in-classrooms. Hands down, some of the most difficult yoga classes I’ve ever taught!
-
After moving back to be near family in Texas, a yoga therapy job at the local children’s hospital opened up, and now I get to spend my days educating kids who are anxious, in pain, struggling with neurological issues or mental health. Through the wisdom of yoga I help facilitate the patient's own innate ability to feel more calm and connected in their mind-body-spirit.
How I practice yoga in the real world…

Daily nature exploration, breath centered mindful body movement and meditation
